Seminar and Book Signing Activity on Sat. Dec.17
We will host a seminar, the topic will be about a book recently published by Dr. Weizhong Cai on Chinese Couplet (对联), entitled 《动人两行字》Follow the seminar there will be a book signing activity. Dr.Cai will donate 50% of the sales to our school.
When: 10:00am-10:50am; 1:00pm-1:50pm; Sat. Dec.17th
Where: Room 118

关于《动人两行字》的讲座及签书活动
蔡维忠博士（笔名无穷江月）创作的关于对联艺术的理论专著《动人两行字》，最近（2011年9月）由北京出版集团公司、北京教育出版社出版。北京电视台《书香北京》以“动人两行字，自里藏乾坤”为题做了专题采访和推荐，节目在国内和国际频道播出。

对联有千年的历史，创作方面积累了很多优秀作品，前人和今人也在理论上加以总结评论，但关于对联艺术的理论仍然只停留在对具体作品的解说评赏，还没有系统的理论阐述对联艺术。这本书取前人的积累、今人的智慧，从心理学、语言学、艺术美学、诗学等学科中提取精华，整合而成，填补了对联史上的一大空白。本书作者本人是对联创作者，联友称其对联作品浑厚奇崛，情感充沛，从简单中挖掘出不平凡，读来回味悠长。作者对于对联是如何打动人心，引起共鸣，有切身体会。因此，在理论阐述中，不是用现成理论来套作品，而是坚持理论与对联创作实践相结合的标准，使理论不至于与创作实践相脱节。本书所有理论都由具体作品印证。每一章都以感性动人的小引开始，达到引人入胜的效果。本书为希望 深入探讨对联和诗歌艺术理论的人提供了创作和欣赏的理论根据，也为广大对联爱好者提供了大量今人和古人的优秀作品范例。

Math and Writing teacher wanted
we plan to open some Math and Writing(English) enrichment classes. The goal of the math class is including but not limited to help students solidify their understaning of math concepts and improve their problem solving skill. The class time will be 8:45-9:45am, 3:00-4:00pm.

Chinese Class for Adults
We are going to open Chinese class for adults if we have enough enrollments.
Class starts on Oct.15.The tuition will be $360 for 24 Saturdays, two 50 minutes classes per Saturday.

Lunch Ticket for Chinese New Year Party
We are going to celebrate our Chinese New Year at The Student Activities Center of Stony Brook University, on Sat., 1/28/2012, we plan to start the stage performance at 10:00am.
Luncheon will be provided after the stage performance.The ticket for lunch is $5 each (teachers, students, children under 3 are free). We are going to start to sell lunch ticket in room 118 on Sat., Dec. 10, and continue on Dec. 17 and Jan.7, from 10:00am to 1:30pm. Tickets that purchased at the day of the party will be $15 each.

All parents are encouraged to attend.

We will be open for the 2011-2012 school year registration on Sep. 10 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Please download/print the registration form, read through and fill out details before sign-up.

We will have interviews with teacher applicants from 10:00AM to 10:30AM and hold a board meeting start from 10:30AM on Sep.10, 2011.
